So I finally managed to upload the whole calendar project I was working on a year ago. I am aware that many of the drawings are not top-quality - print dimensions of the calendar were quite small so most of the stuff actually turned out to look quite good. Because me and my family (I made this for them and relatives) are catholic, I chose catholic saints as a main theme of the calendar. But at the same time I tried to include some of the symbols of given month. The small square compartment under each drawing was intended for notes. Any feedback or critique would be greatly appreciated.

Going digital

After contemplating for  while, I finally decided to try colorizing my drawings digitally. I was never really good with colors, so I tried to avoid them whenever I could. Besides, it seemed like too much work for me. But seeing all those great works of people like i-am-mighty or denmanrooke was great encouragement for me to try it myself. So I went out and bought a shiny new wacom bamboo graphic tablet. I am playing with it for a day now, and it great. I started with colorizing one of my previous works and it went suprisingly good. Lines

Lines are great! They are pure contrast (black/white), pure movement (pen's "footprint"), they define space and are uniform (when I use certain pen). They represent the rule, the system. Everything I do with them is determined with the nature of a line "per se". If I used different pen strengths and colors I would have another system with another rules. But for now, I am happy to explore all the possibilities this, in a way rigid system offers. This system itself helps bonding the whole drawing together. But at the same time, it is not a limitation rather than a challenge. How to create an impression of space? How to draw shades? To what l
